Artist Statement
Each dove is carrying leaves that represent the 43 lives lost during the tornado.* The sun represents hope. The cross is the symbol of assurance that Christ will always be with you no matter what the storm brings. The flowers are for a new beginning after the storm.
*Since I made the quilt, another person has died, making it now a total of 44 lives lost.
